Features of an AYP Membership
The AYP Magazine is your source for Y career expertise. You’ll receive six issues every year – each full of the thought leadership trends and actionable career advice. Y staff from across the country, and experts from outside the Y, provide their experience and insights to help inform your planning and decision making. For generations, Y professionals have made this resource their go-to source to stay current on critical issues and peer learning.
A VAST NETWORK TO SUPPORT YOUR CAREER
You are already supported and inspired by the colleagues you work with every day. Think bigger: When you expand those connections to the scores of Y professionals that work at Ys in your AYP Chapter, the impact grows dramatically. Think bigger still: the hundreds of Y professionals that you interact with at regional events expands your network even further. And think bigger still: National AYP events attract thousands of Y staff in all leadership levels from all corners of the country. Your next challenge, your next project, or your next job can result from the personal connections you make through AYP.
At its core, AYP is about providing you with opportunities to enhance your personal and professional development. Chapter meetings, Regional Events, National Conferences, and other events complement the trainings and programs offered by YMCA of the USA to enhance your impact as a Y professional and inspire you as a leader.
AYP is dedicated to making the Chapter, Regional, or National level experience among the most significant professional growth experiences of your Y career. Each Chapter has a Board that serves local AYP members through meeting planning, EAF campaign, recognition programs, and more. Leaders are supported by AYP national staff and others as they participate in a “learn by doing” approach to leadership.
The acknowledgment of peers is one the most significant recognitions that we can receive. Each Chapter provides a structured nomination process and formal event to recognize whose achievements are examples of the very best of what we aspire to as YMCA professionals.
For nearly 100 years AYP has supported colleagues in times of distress. National disasters, health crises and family emergencies can trigger the need for support. Funded by the very people it helps, EAF is possible through the generous contributions of active and retired YMCA professionals. No one ever wants to be in a position to need assistance, but the support from YMCA colleagues makes a dramatic difference in times of unexpected challenges.
Exclusive hotel savings for AYP members. Save up to 55% over online travel agencies and enjoy the convenience of 24/7 concierge. A great option for professional or personal travel all across the world! Contact Josh@ayponline.org for login details or check your email for passcode.
